BFGF on Healing of Wound After Operation for Anal Fistula
Objective : To observe the effect of bFGF (basic fibroblast growth factor for external use) on healing of the wound after the incision plus drainage for anal fistula.
Methods : Ninety-six cases of the disease subjected to the operation were divided into treatment group (50 cases)and control group (46 cases). The former received bFGF fordressing change on their wounds,and the latter received tissue regeneration promoting ointment gauze for the same purpose.
Results : The results showed that wound-healing time was much shorter in treatment group (16±1.9)d than that in control group (30±3.2)d (P<0.001). The epiderm growth was much faster in treatment group (5.9±0.6)mm/ 3d than that in control groups (3.1±0.7)mm/3d (P<0.001), and there was no systemic or local adverse reactions in both the groups.
Conclusion : It suggests that bFGF can promote the healing of wound after the operation for anal fistula and relieve pain,and it can be externally used safely.
Curative Effects of Basic Fibroblast Growth Factor on Anus Wound Healing
Objective : To observe the curative effects of basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF) on anus wound healing.
Methods : From April 1996 to December 2000, out of 109 patients with anus trauma, hemorrhoidectomy or fistula resection, 68 cases were treated with bFGF as the experimental group, while 41 cases were treated routinely as the control group. The healing of the wound, the general and local reaction were observed.
Results : The healing time of the experimental group was (17.00±1.54) days while that of the control group was (20.00±1.16) days (P<0.01). Three weeks after operation, the healing rates of the experimental and control groups were 97.1% and 87.8%, respectively (P<0.01). No general or local detrimental reactions were found in two groups.
Conclusion : Local application of bFGF can a ccelerate the healing of anus wound,and the patients have little pain.
